The Gate

Posted on March 16, 2025 By Maud No Comments on The Gate

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10.

One day many, many years ago, God’s kids did what so many kids do; they rebelled against their Father’s authority. They listened to strange voices and believed perverted promises and they chose to exchange their Father’s truth for the enemy’s lies.

It broke God’s heart when He had to ask the children to leave His domain, since sin cannot stay in God’s presence, and He cried as He had to lock the gate and watch them go away.

Time passed. Years turned into centuries and centuries grew into millennia. The Father’s heart longed for His children and He waited eagerly for the day when they would come back home.

When the time was right and He couldn’t wait any longer, He turned to His elder Son and said, “Son, go find the kids! Search until you find them and bring them home. Tell them how much I love them!”

The Son agreed. He left His Father’s domain and went out to find the children, knowing He would have to go through unspeakable rejection and horrible suffering, and it would be the hardest thing He would ever have to do. But it would be worth it. The only thing that mattered was to bring the kids home.

When He found the children, some of them were glad to see Him while others turned their back and wanted nothing to do with Him, refusing to believe that He was who He claimed to be. Still, He persisted and tried to convince them of the Father’s love.

In the end He had to fight a fierce battle, a fight for His life and the life of the children, even those who didn’t believe Him. Even though it looked for a little while as if He had lost the battle, He won a glorious victory which broke the enemy’s power forever.

Then He turned around and started for home. He entered His Father’s kingdom, and He left the gate open . . .
