Your Father Knows

Posted on July 6, 2025July 6, 2025 By Maud No Comments on Your Father Knows

Since He did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, won’t He give us everything else?

Romans 8:32

At a time in our lives when we had gone through some very hard and hurtful things, God was still faithful and supplied our needs.

My husband was experiencing some physical problems and couldn’t work. I worked long hours at a nursing home in a neighboring town, but it wasn’t enough. Our cupboards were often bare and some months there was no money for rent. We were depressed, sad, and lonely and our self-esteem was at an all-time low.

We attended a little church nearby where we felt welcome. One Wednesday evening as we arrived for the midweek service, the lady pastor met us in the parking lot. She reached into her car and pulled out a dress and handed it to me. It was a beautiful dress and I loved it. I assumed she was no longer able to wear it for whatever reason, and I didn’t inquire about it. I was just thankful. Later she told me that God had spoken to her to go to her closet and get out her very best dress and give it to me. She was to tell me that I was God’s best!

And even though I loved the dress, and even though I really needed it, it wasn’t the dress itself that meant so much. It was the message! The message that told me that God knew where I was and how I was feeling. The message that showed me how much He cared, and how much He cared about me!

But God doesn’t have favorites. We are all His best. And He knows each one of us in a very special way, better than we know ourselves. He knew how I felt about myself, and He wanted to encourage me at a time when I really needed it. And this event didn’t just impact me, but also my husband and daughter, because we were all going through this difficult time together.

Do not worry about these things, saying, What shall we eat? What shall we drink? What shall we wear? But seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.

Matthew 6:31-34

PERSONAL GOD

God is a personal God
He cares about you the way He cares about me
And He loves us both the same
And yet we’re each unique
He deals with every soul according to its needs
No problem is too big
No question is too hard
Our God is big and great and nothing is too difficult for Him
You see, He made the stars
And nothing is too small, too trivial for Him
He loves me so
You see, I am His precious child.
And so are you!
